3Quency signs with Columbia Records, announces debut single “Top Down”

The winners of Netflix’s Building the Band are officially stepping into the spotlight. Brianna Mazzola, Nori Moore, and Wennely Quezada, better known as 3Quency, have signed with RECORDS/Columbia Records and are preparing to drop their debut single, “Top Down,” on September 5.

The trio, who filmed the competition series back in summer 2024, shared their excitement about turning their TV victory into a real music career. “We are so excited to be signed with RECORDS/Columbia Records, especially because that’s what we’re prepared to drop,” they told The Hollywood Reporter. “New music is coming and we couldn’t be happier to share what we’ve spent the last year working on.”

In a joint statement, the group added, “We immediately felt the love from the team and felt like we were at home. Our goal was to build a girl group on the foundation of sisterhood. Our bond makes 3Quency what it is, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear ‘Top Down.’ It’s just the beginning.”

3Quency also has powerhouse management behind them: Johnny Wright, the industry veteran who helped launch *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears, is guiding the group’s next chapter.

Fans curious about what to expect won’t have to wonder for long. Speaking to Tudum after the show, Mazzola teased, “What’s coming next for us is definitely nothing regular. It’s loud, it’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s empowering. Every week on the show, we made sure each performance outdid the one before… what’s coming next for us is also a reinvention.”

True to their word, the group has already begun teasing “Top Down” on social media with snippets of the track, building hype for their official launch.

With major-label backing, a proven manager, and a clear vision, 3Quency is looking to make some serious noise in the pop landscape, and September 5 is just the beginning.
