49ers Get Extremely Concerning George Kittle Update From Sports Doctor

The San Francisco 49ers have been hoping to get back to being a serious contender in the NFC this season. After a depressing 2024 campaign that saw them miss the playoffs, all of their attention has been on getting back on track.

Staying healthy will be one of the biggest keys to making that happen.

Unfortunately, right off the bat in Week 1 the 49ers have suffered a major injury. George Kittle went down with a hamstring injury against the Seattle Seahawks and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game.

While there has been no official update about how long he could be out, one sports doctor has spoken out with a very concerning opinion.

Jesse Morse, a sports medicine physician who has grown very popular on X for weighing in on sports injuries, wrote a post with his opinion about Kittle. He thinks the San Francisco star could miss some time.

“George Kittle has been ruled out the rest of the game with hamstring strain,” Morse wrote in his post. “This very well could cause him to miss 1-3 weeks.”

If the worst-case of three weeks becomes a reality, the 49ers’ offense would take a huge hit. Kittle has been one of their primary leaders for years and has become Brock Purdy’s favorite weapon in the passing game.

To further show the impact Kittle makes for San Francisco, he had already caught four passes for 25 yards and a touchdown before the injury occurred.

Last season with the 49ers, the 31-year-old tight end racked up 78 receptions for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games. He was rewarded for that production with a new four-year, $76.4 million contract extension back in April.

Hopefully, San Francisco gets a better update on Kittle’s injury than the one that Morse has provided. However, it’s certainly a concerning outlook.

Only time will tell, but fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting for an update. The 49ers simply cannot withstand another season full of injuries like they had in 2024.

Make sure to stay tuned for an update on Kittle’s status as soon as it is made available.
