Day 2 Sparks Innovation & Collaboration
The Indian International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society) continued the second day of the Global Textile Technology and Engineering Show (GTTES 2025) with dynamic discussions, strategic collaborations, and a strong focus on sustainability at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai. The three-day event (February 21-23) stands as a milestone for India’s textile industry, promoting global cooperation and technological advancements.
Chhattisgarh Investment Summit: A Key Industry Highlight
The day commenced with the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd Investment Summit in the B2B Pavilion, focusing on investment opportunities and business expansion in the textile sector. The summit showcased Chhattisgarh’s emergence as a key textile hub, featuring insightful discussions on policy formation, technological advancements, and strategic growth.
Key speakers at the summit included:
- Mr. Praveen Shukla, Additional Director, Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Limited
- Ms. Diksha Purohit, Principal Consultant, CSIDC
- Mr. Gurjeet Bhatia, Principal Consultant, CSIDC
Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman and member of the India ITME Society’s Steering Committee, emphasized the importance of aligning with Chhattisgarh’s Industrial Development Policy 2024-2030, positioning the state as a major player in textile manufacturing.
Praveen Shukla, Additional Director, CSIDC, highlighted Chhattisgarh’s $35.9 billion export footprint in textiles over 24 years and its power surplus advantage, supplying electricity to 13 states. With a textile park in Jangir Champa and over 25,000 MSMEs and 1,400 DPIT-registered startups, the state is rapidly evolving into a thriving textile ecosystem.
MOUs Signed to Strengthen Global Textile Collaboration
A series of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed at the B2B Pavilion, marking strategic partnerships that will drive innovation in the textile industry. One of the key MOUs involved the Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce, strengthening international trade and investment opportunities.
Murtuza Shabbir Arsiwala, Honorary Trade Commissioner, Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of textile trade in Asia and the Middle East, highlighting new avenues for bilateral trade, import-export, and cross-border investments.
Sustainable Fashion & Post-Consumer Textile Recycling
A joint initiative titled “Threads of Transformation”, organized by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Textile Committee, HSNC, C4C SBI Foundation, and TISSER, highlighted the impact of post-consumer textile recycling. The session emphasized sustainable practices that support 200+ artisan cultures across 25+ states in India, preserving traditional crafts while promoting eco-friendly fashion.
Recycled & Sustainable Fashion Show: A Tribute to Innovation
The day concluded with an inspiring Recycled, Upcycled & Sustainable Fashion Art & Fashion Show, a creative tribute to sustainability. The show featured artisans and designers showcasing innovative solutions to textile waste, reinforcing the importance of circular fashion and responsible manufacturing.
The B2B Pavilion emerged as a vibrant hub for industry networking, fostering discussions on emerging trends, innovations, and future opportunities in the textile sector.
