Turkmenistan team defeats Luxembourg at the start of the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship

The Turkmenistan national hockey team won a crushing victory over Luxembourg in its first match at the 2025 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship in Division III group “B”. The match, which took place in Bangkok, ended with a score of 8:2 (1:0, 3:2, 4:0).

Sultanhamit Vahitov scored a hexa-trick (six goals) for the Turkmen team, Shohrat Begliyev and Iskenderhan Durdyev scored a goal each.

Let us remind that the tournament is being held from February 28 to March 6 in Thailand. The teams from Bosnia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, South Africa and Luxembourg are fighting for a ticket to the third division of group “A”.

Today, March 1, Meylis Kuliyev’s team will play against Thailand.
