Auto Sales Report: Bajaj Auto, Ashok Leyland, Eicher Motors & Hero MotoCorp witnessed mixed fortunes in February
India’s leading automotive companies reported mixed sales results for February 2025, with some seeing growth in exports and commercial vehicles, while others faced challenges in the domestic market.
Bajaj Auto
Bajaj Auto recorded total sales of 3.52 lakh units, reflecting a 2% growth from 3.46 lakh units in February 2024. However, domestic sales declined by 11% to 1.83 lakh units, compared to 2.07 lakh units last year. On the export front, Bajaj Auto saw a 2% increase, with sales rising to 1.68 lakh units, up from 1.40 lakh units YoY.
Ashok Leyland
The commercial vehicle manufacturer reported sales of 17,903 units, marking a 2% increase over 17,632 units sold in February 2024. However, its Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) segment saw a slight decline of 0.4%, with sales dropping to 11,486 units from 11,537 units YoY.
Eicher Motors
Eicher Motors posted strong results in its Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) segment, with total sales reaching 8,092 units, reflecting a 9.1% growth from 7,424 units in February 2024. Domestic sales of Eicher Trucks and Buses also rose by 6.2%, hitting 7,357 units, compared to 6,930 units last year.
Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp dispatched 3.88 lakh units in February 2025. Domestic sales stood at 3,57,296 units, while global sales saw a 33% jump, surpassing 30,000 units for the third consecutive month.
While Bajaj Auto struggled in the domestic market, Ashok Leyland and Eicher Motors showed resilience in commercial vehicles. Hero MotoCorp continued to expand its global presence with consistent overseas sales growth.
