With Week 4 of the NFL season now upon us, there’s a big enough sample size to judge players based purely on their 2024 seasons. Gone are the narratives and expectations from last year, and now, it’s time for fantasy managers to look at their players based on what they’ve done this year. That’s great news for fantasy owners who are looking to buy low on struggling players.
More Fantasy Football: Top Waiver Wire Adds Ahead of Week 4
If you’ve started the season 3-0 or 2-1, you have the luxury of taking a chance on these struggling players in the hopes of them getting their seasons back on track. Here are three players who will do just that sooner rather than later.
1. Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After exploding for 23.1 PPR points in Week 1, Evans has put up 7.2 and 3.7 points over the last two weeks. This is the perfect time to acquire him.
Evans has 10 consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 yards to start his career. He’s also coming off a 2023 season with quarterback Baker Mayfield in which he had 1,255 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.
Mayfield continues to play at a high level, and he and Evans will get their connection back on track.
2. Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers rewarded Aiyuk with a four-year, $120 million deal right before the start of the season to end his contract hold-in. His lack of training camp this season has been evident.
Aiyuk has just 11 receptions for 119 yards across the first three games of the season, and hasn’t eclipsed double-digit fantasy points. That should all change soon.
Take the first three weeks of the season as Aiyuk’s preseason, and expect him to finally get back on track this week against a bad New England Patriots secondary. Trade for him this week before it’s too late.
3. Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs

Kelce has looked nothing like the nine-time Pro Bowler, four-time All-Pro First Teamer, and future Hall of Fame tight end this year. Through three games, Kelce has just eight catches for 69 yards. He’s only been targeted 12 times.
While Kelce is unlikely to be the player who was racking up 100 receptions for 1,000-plus yards anymore, he should continue to find ways to get more involved in Kansas City’s offense, especially in the red zone.
If you’re trading for Kelce, you need to make sure his value is lower than his name would dictate. Once that’s settled, he’s a great option to break out, especially at a struggling tight end position across fantasy football.
