AF1 terminates Orlando Predators membership
BILLINGS — The Orlando Predators informed Arena Football One that the franchise wouldn’t be competing in the newly-formed league this season.
According to a press release issued by AF1 on Tuesday night, the Predators membership in the league has been “terminated, effective immediately.”
Orlando was a founding member of the AF1 when plans for the league were announced in early Sept. 2024. The eight remaining teams from the rebooted Arena Football League that competed in its first and only season in 2024 launched the AF1.
The Arena Bowl champion Billings Outlaws are one of the founding members of AF1. The Outlaws were to play at the Orlando Predators on March 29 and were scheduled to host them on April 25.

Outlaws owner Steven Titus told The Billings Gazette and 406 MT Sports when reached by phone Wednesday that the league, including Billings, was working on a revised schedule for this coming season and that revised schedule would be released soon. He also confirmed Orlando wouldn’t be playing in the AF1.
So far, prior to this upcoming season, several teams have dropped from the AF1. In November, the AF1 announced that the Stockton (California) Crusaders and Monterrey (Mexico) Kings, who were previously announced as expansion franchises, would not join the league lineup until 2026 to give the new teams more time to prepare.
In late December, the Wichita (Kansas) Regulators announced they wouldn’t be competing in the inaugural year of AF1. The Regulators were one of the eight founding AF1 teams.
And in mid-February, the expansion Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Mavericks announced they wouldn’t be competing in 2025.
According to the AF1 website, there are now nine teams remaining in AF1: the Albany Firebirds, Nashville Kats, Corpus Christi Tritons, Southwest Kansas Storm, Salina Liberty, Arizona Bandits, Oregon Lightning, Billings Outlaws, and the Washington Wolfpack.
Prior to the announcement on Tuesday that Orlando wouldn’t be a member of the AF1, the Outlaws were scheduled to open the season on March 15 at the Washington Wolfpack.
