TradeTech Forum returns to Abu Dhabi; Driving innovation

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi is set to host the second edition of the TradeTech Forum, organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF), on April 8, 2025, as part of AIM Congress.

Bringing together over 400 global trade leaders and experts, the forum will focus on harnessing technology to reshape international trade and investment.

Under the theme “TradeTech Transition: Evaluating the Present, Envisioning the Future,” discussions will center on emerging technologies, their impact on sustainability, and enhancing inclusivity in global trade.

The agenda includes plenary sessions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities to provide actionable insights for industry stakeholders.

His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, will inaugurate the forum, emphasizing the transformative power of technology in making global supply chains more efficient, secure, and inclusive.

HE highlighted the UAE’s role as a leader in technological innovation and trade facilitation, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to fostering digital solutions for sustainable economic growth.

H.E. Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), underscored Abu Dhabi’s position as a key global trade hub, leveraging advanced technologies such as AI and blockchain to drive seamless and fair trade.

The forum will open with the TradeTech Face-Off, a dynamic breakfast debate presenting contrasting perspectives on the future of trade technology.

Key discussions will include AI-driven advancements in customs, insights from the 2025 TradeTech Report, regulatory developments in trade finance, and investment strategies for trade innovation. Attendees can also participate in hands-on workshops exploring AI applications in supply chains, logistics, and trade finance.

With dedicated spaces for investor collaborations, bilateral meetings, and knowledge-sharing, the forum aims to foster cross-border partnerships and economic resilience.

Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the event will serve as a key platform for advancing global TradeTech initiatives.

Tim Stekkinger, Head of the TradeTech Initiative at WEF, emphasized the urgency of embracing technological advancements and regulatory adaptations to build a more efficient and sustainable trade ecosystem.

Tim highlighted the forum’s role in shaping the future of TradeTech through thought leadership and strategic collaborations.
