Hold on to your Neverfulls! Louis Vuitton, the storied luxury house is all set to foray into beauty with the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton.
Helming the line is none other than Dame Pat McGrath, DBE who will serve as Creative Director, Cosmetics.
In a release, she says, “Working backstage for over 20 years at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to now play such a key role in the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, which is the result of extraordinary craftsmanship, creativity and innovation. The beauty universe is about so much more than just product, and what we are creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty.”
Louis Vuitton is the latest entrants in the beauty space. Prada, Hèrmes, Cèline and Balmain have already launched their own makeup lines in the recent past.
Since its inception, Louis Vuitton has seamlessly blended travel with elegance, crafting innovative vanity cases designed to transport delicate toiletries, perfumes, and cosmetics. In the 1920s, the brand introduced luxurious powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors, showcasing its dedication to beauty and refinement. Among the remarkable pieces preserved in the Louis Vuitton archives are two exquisite creations from 1925: Le Milano, a bespoke kit designed for soprano Marthe Chenal, and an elegant toiletry case crafted for Polish composer Jan Paderewski. Additionally, Louis Vuitton’s first handbags for women were thoughtfully designed to accommodate daily essentials, including cosmetics, further cementing the brand’s legacy of sophistication and functionality.
The launch of the beauty line is set to happen in Autumn/Winter 2025. Considering that Pat McGrath is known for her own eponymous beauty line that offers high performance makeup along with the Louis Vuitton’s exquisite attention to detail, we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
