“Thrilled to end FY 24-25 on a high note,” wrote M&S India’s brand manager Shikhar Srivastava in a post on Linkedin. “Our new store in Faridabad was flooded with customers eager to experience what we have to offer. All our efforts in communicating the store launch led to this moment of truth- seeing a sea of customers waiting outside, ready to step in as soon as we opened.”
M&S first entered the Indian market in 2001 and later partnered with Reliance Retail in 2008 to form Marks and Spencer Reliance India Private Limited. With its new store, the retailer now operates over 107 stores across 33 cities, catering to a growing customer base through both offline and online channels, India Retailing reported.
Headquartered in London, M&S was founded in 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer in Leeds. Today, the retailer has more than 1,064 stores in the UK and over 452 international locations, employing a global workforce of over 66,000 people. In India, the brand continues to strengthen its presence with a mix of standalone stores and digital expansion, offering fashion, lingerie, and lifestyle products tailored to local preferences.
