SK IoT devices firm invests P103-M in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT – A South Korean-based manufacturer specializing in wireless technology for the Internet of Things (IoT) has expanded its operations here. 

DeviceDesign, Philippines Corp. (DPC) on March 13 opened a new factory at Manunggal St. here, investing P103 million and creating employment opportunities for more than 500 individuals over the next five years.

Devanadera emphasized CDC’s commitment to providing support to its registered locators, including ease of doing business, manpower requirements, and promotion and marketing.

“CDC aims to provide not only regulatory and promotional services but also services that will increase locators’ revenues. One such service is promoting business interdependence, allowing products to be purchased by other locators who are also registered as export enterprises,” Devanadera said.

Established in 2010, DeviceDesign specializes in the development, manufacturing, and sales of IoT communication products. The company has been a registered Clark Freeport locator since 2019, subleasing under KX Hitech Phils. Corp.

“After two years of this [expansion] decision, we have established our factory today. In the era of globalization, we plan to make a second leap forward by utilizing Korea’s excellent technology and the Philippines’ excellent labor force,” said DPC chairman and president Cho Young-Guk.

DeviceDesign develops and sells Bluetooth-related products like earbuds and headsets, as well as LBS location tracking systems. The company is expanding from IoT modules to monitoring systems and medical devices. 

Since January 2020, it has commercialized Bluetooth thermometers and earbud thermometers, with plans to include healthcare devices using heart rate and brain wave monitoring according to its website. CDC-PR
