Jacky Del Mundo is a musician like no other.
A multi-instrumentalist with a lifetime of global experience, he brings a unique fusion of cultures to every performance. From the hypnotic sounds of the sitar to the rich rhythms of Congolese rumba, his music takes audiences on a journey across continents.
Born into a family of professional musicians, Jacky was immersed in music from a young age. By 14, he was playing the guitar, inspired by The Beatles’ genre-blending approach. At 21, he set out for Congo, where he mastered Lingala, Congolese rumba, and soukous, performing in nightclubs. His musical explorations continued in Europe, where he played in Greek clubs, and later expanded to Gambia, Cuba, Brazil, and India, where he studied the sitar and bansuri. Now based in Spain, Jacky performs in bars, festivals, and private events, sharing his vast repertoire of sounds and influences.

Jacky believes that music is a universal bridge. “When people hear you play and sing their own music, you immediately gain their respect,” he says. His passion for world music has led him to learn numerous instruments, including steel drums, kora, Greek lyra, bouzouki, sitar, bansuri, and native flute. Indian music, in particular, holds a special place in his heart. “Western music follows a structure, but Indian music is an infinite journey, hypnotic and relaxing, an escape from earthly concerns,” he explains.
Among his most memorable performances, Jacky recalls playing in a stadium for 52,000 people in Brussels when Belgium’s Olympic athletes returned from Athens in 2004. He has also performed for Queen Paola of Belgium’s 65th birthday. A prolific composer, Jacky has recorded numerous albums and was awarded the Golden Muze by the authors’ association Sabam.
Now, he is preparing to record his entire body of work. But for those eager to experience his music live, don’t miss the chance to witness Jacky Del Mundo’s extraordinary talent. His performances are a celebration of global music, emotion, and storytelling—an experience you won’t forget.
