Garibaldi Secondary School is holding a Sound Bath Meditation with Wise Monkey Wellness & Yoga in support of the school’s music program
A high school in Maple Ridge is inviting the public to relax with a sound bath mediation to raise money for their music program.
Garibalid Secondary School is hosting the event which is geared towards those 16 years and older.
“Let the soothing sounds wash over you as you relax and unwind in a serene atmosphere. This in-person event is perfect for anyone looking to de-stress and recharge,” said an online post.
Participants will be able to immerse themselves in the healing vibrations of sound therapy and harmonious melodies, which will enable them to let go of any tensions and worries.
Those attending should bring something to lie on, like a yoga mat or a thick blanket that’s supportive and comfortable. Some mats will be available for those who don’t have anything to bring.
Participants are advised to wear warm layers of soft, loose, or stretchy clothing, warm enough to keep comfortable while lying still.
A light blanket is also recommended to bring to put under your head or knees for comfort as participants will by lying down for most of the session.
Eye masks and fuzzy socks can also make the session more relaxing.
“This is your opportunity to find inner peace and harmony,” the school said.
The event is being run by Wise Monkey Wellness & Yoga.
Sound Bath Meditation with Wise Monkey Wellness & Yoga will be taking place from 7:15-8:15 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at Garibaldi Secondary School, 24789 Dewdney Trunk Rd., Maple Ridge.
Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. and the event is expected to last one hour.
Admissions is $43.93 and sales end Friday, April 11.
The event is being put on by Garibaldi Music, which supports students learning music in school through activities and fundraisers.
