King Edward VI College Stourbridge honoured with Music Mark Award
King Edward VI College has been awarded the coveted Music Mark Award for 2024/25 in recognition of its “outstanding” commitment to music education.
The accolade reflects the college’s dedication to fostering a “vibrant musical environment” and its strong engagement with Dudley Performing Arts.
Music Mark, the UK Association for Music Education, champions and supports access to music for all children and young people.
Schools and colleges that receive their recognition are said to demonstrate a positive approach to music, which in turn enhances student well-being, behaviour, and academic performance.
The award not only celebrates the college’s commitment to music education but also provides access to valuable resources, training opportunities, and sector news through Music Mark’s membership benefits.
Principal at King Edward VI College, Holly Bembridge, said: “Music is an integral part of life at King Ed’s.
“Our students and staff are not only passionate about it but pursue it to an exceptional standard — and take real joy in the process.
“We’re proud to be recognised as a Music Mark School, and grateful for our ongoing partnership with Dudley Performing Arts, which enriches our students’ experience.
“We’re excited about future collaborations. Music builds confidence, connection and a sense of belonging — and we’re committed to helping more young people in Dudley access those benefits.”
