Get free tickets for Lancashire Science Festival public day
The University of Central Lancashire’s one-day event, one of the county’s biggest free gatherings, will take place on May 17.
The festival will feature new shows, workshops, exhibits, and activities, alongside returning favourites.
This year’s highlights include ‘Meet the Dinosaurs: Tyrone, Terry and Donna,’ a family show introducing life-like puppet friends.
Other shows include ‘Chemistry Unleashed: Explosions, Reactions, and the Science Behind It All,’ ‘Look Up,’ and ‘Music To Your Ears.’
Children will have the opportunity to explore emergency vehicles, learn about “ghost-hunting technology,” and meet various “minibeasts” at Bugfest.
Returning attractions include ‘This is Amazing Chemistry,’ the ‘Bubble Science Show,’ and the ‘Teddy Bear’s Clinic.’
A range of paid workshops, costing £1.50 per person, will also be available, with proceeds going to the University’s Harris Bursary Fund.

Dr Liz Granger, Lancashire Science Festival director, said: “I’m thrilled our inspiring and award-winning festival is returning in 2025 and I know thousands of children and families will enjoy the programme we’ve curated.
“Free educational and fun events in the region are a great help during financially tough times so I’m delighted we’re able to offer something for everyone, with popular favourites returning alongside some really exciting new shows and workshops.”
The public day follows two school-specific days, which will see around 6,000 children from across the North West enjoy a day of STEM activities.
Free tickets for the science spectacular can be secured from at 10am on Tuesday, April 15.
