Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line launched in India: Here is the price and features of the SUV

Volkswagen launched the sportier version of Tiguan, the Tiguan R-Line, in India on Monday for Rs 48.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV comes in a single variant and gets mechanical and visual upgrades over the standard Tiguan.

Bookings for the R-Live started last month. The SUV will come to India as a gully fully-imported CBU model.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Engine specifications

The new Tiguan R-Line will be powered by a 2.-litre turbocharged petrol engine and will come equipped with a DSG gearbox.The engine produces 201 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque, with the power being diverted to all four wheels by Volkswagen’s 4Motion AWD system.

The Tiguan R-Line has an all-black interior highlighted by striking red accents on the dashboard, door panels, and center console, giving it a sporty look.

Further, it comes with a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Comfort and convenience are further enhanced by premium features such as a wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, head-up display, and heated and ventilated front seats.

In the safety department, the Tiguan R-Line includes six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and an electronic parking brake. Additionally, it is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like lane keep assist, forward collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise control, offering a safer and more confident driving experience.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Design

The Tiguan R-Line’s core design concept is shared with the standard Tiguan. However, several sporty cosmetic enhancements have been added.

These include more aggressive bumpers, a larger front grille, sleeker headlamps with integrated DRLs, prominent front splitters, and distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, connected LED taillamps and exclusive R-Line badging add to its dynamic appeal.

The new Tiguan R-Line will be offered in six exterior color options, including Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White with a Mother of Pearl Effect, and Oyster Silver Metallic.
