Delhi High Court Rejects Plea for Stricter Court Live Streaming Rules
The Delhi High Court recently dismissed a petition demanding stricter enforcement of live streaming and video recording of court hearings.The petition, filed by Bharat Bhushan Sharma, raised concerns over the ineffective implementation of the Delhi High Court’s 2023 guidelines on archival and access of recorded proceedings. Despite this, Justice Sachin Datta upheld the court’s previous stance, emphasizing that technical committees are working to resolve logistical challenges before expanding live streaming services. He also expressed concerns about the misuse of live-streamed court videos on social media.
