The International Forum for Environment, Sustainability and Technology (iFOREST) has signed an MoU with Odisha’s Energy Department to accelerate green energy adoption and support the state’s goal of achieving 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

International Forum for Environment, Sustainability and Technology (iFOREST), a New Delhi-based independent non-profit environmental and public policy research and innovation organisation has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Energy Department of Odisha to boost Green Energy adoption.
“This partnership will focus on knowledge exchange, capacity building and planning support to make Odisha’s energy mix more sustainable. It is proposed to expand the scope of technical/ implementation support to energy utilities in the coming years, with high levels of engagement,” stated the Energy Department in a post on social media.
“This is a continuation of our engagements in Odisha that started in 2022. The new MoU expands the scope of work from GRIDCO LtD. and Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) to other energy utilities and agencies,” stated a post by iFOREST.
Odisha has been making consistent efforts to increase its RE capacity, reaching a total of 688 MW by July 2024, with an investment intent of INR 4.33 lakh crore.
iFOREST will be providing technical and advisory support for designing policies, roadmaps and investment mobilisation to achieve 10 GW RE capacity in Odisha by 2030.
