Apparel manufacturing among areas marked for India-Egypt collaboration

Apparel manufacturing, renewable energy/green hydrogen, international trade settlement and digital payments, transport and trade disputes were some of the sectors identified for collaboration at the sixth session of India-Egypt Joint Trade Committee (JTC) held in New Delhi recently.

India informed Egypt that necessary approvals for signing the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) of India and the MSME Development Agency (MSMEDA) of Egypt have been obtained.

Apparel manufacturing, renewable energy/green hydrogen, international trade settlement and digital payments were some of the sectors identified for collaboration at the sixth session of India-Egypt Joint Trade Committee held in New Delhi recently.
India informed Egypt that necessary approvals for signing the MoU on cooperation between India’s NSIC and Egypt’s MSMEDA have been obtained.

Both sides expressed their desire for an early signing and operationalisation and discussed market access issues on agricultural products and agreed to resolve the issues as early as possible, according to a release from the Indian ministry of commerce and industry.

Both sides also agreed on closer collaboration between their respective investment promotion agencies.

The next meeting of the JTC will be held in 2026 in Egypt.
