NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Wednesday’s session.

Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 0.97%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 0.33%), NMDC Ltd.(up 0.23%) and Coal India Ltd.(up 0.09%) stood among the top gainers.

Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 2.98%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 2.56%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 2.11%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 2.09%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 1.77%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 1.47%), MOIL Ltd.(down 1.34%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 0.99%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 0.70%) and Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.07%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 161.71 points up at 24328.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 520.9 points at 80116.49.

HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 7.71%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 4.61%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 4.59%), Wipro Ltd.(up 4.04%), Infosys Ltd.(up 3.67%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.58%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 2.98%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 2.79%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.37%) and Tata Steel Ltd.(up 2.18%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
