Air India, IndiGo cancel flights to several cities today. Check list
Air India on Tuesday announced the cancellation of round-trip flight operations to and from eight cities: Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot. The cancellations are effective for Tuesday, May 13.In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Air India said: “In view of the latest developments and keeping your safety in mind, flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot are cancelled for Tuesday, 13th May.”
The airline added, “We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated.”
This follows a similar move by IndiGo, which suspended operations to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot on the same day.

The IndiGo advisory read, “In light of the latest developments and with your safety as our utmost priority, flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot are cancelled for 13th May 2025. We understand how this may disrupt your travel plans, and regret the inconvenience caused. Our teams are actively monitoring the situation and will promptly keep you informed of further updates. Before heading to the airport, please check your flight status on our website or app. If you need assistance, we’re just a message or call away, and forever ready to help.”
Meanwhile Air India Express said that following notifications from authorities, it will gradually reinstate flight operations from previously closed airports.
“Starting 13th May, services will resume on routes including Hindon–Bengaluru, Jammu–Delhi, Jammu–Srinagar, and Srinagar–Delhi. Operations on Hindon–Mumbai are planned to resume from 14th May. The reinstatement of other flights, including international services from Amritsar, is expected to follow from 15th May. Spicejet too said it will resume service “Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Dharamshala, Kandla & Amritsar” soon.
Earlier, Air India had said it was preparing to resume operations to and from several of these cities. The airline confirmed that its teams are actively working to restore normal services.
“Following a notification from aviation authorities on the reopening of airports, Air India is working towards progressively commencing flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot. We appreciate your understanding at this time,” the airline said in another post on X.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday announced the reopening of 32 airports across northern and western India for civil operations. These airports had been temporarily shut due to escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border, with the closure recently extended until May 15.
Amid the heightened alert, red streaks and explosions were witnessed as India’s air defence systems intercepted suspected Pakistani drones in the Samba sector. Army sources noted that only a small number of drones entered the area and were being actively engaged, emphasizing that there was no cause for alarm.
