Air India and IndiGo cancelled numerous flights on May 13th, 2025, citing safety concerns due to unforeseen circumstances. Both airlines are monitoring the situation.

New Delhi: Air India on Tuesday (May 13) said that the two-way flight operations at eight locations were cancelled for the day.  The airlines said keeping the step was taken while keeping the ‘safety of the passengers’ in mind as they monitor the situation.

The eight cities where the operations have been cancelled for May 13 are Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot.

“In view of the latest developments and keeping your safety in mind, flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot are cancelled for Tuesday, 13th May. We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated,” Air India issued a statement on X.

Incidentally, the move came after IndiGo airlines announced to cancel its flights to and fro in six locations. Jammu, Leh, Srinagar, Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot are the locations where the airlines won’t be able to facilitate flight service for Tuesday.
“In light of the latest developments and with your safety as our utmost priority, flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot are cancelled for 13th May 2025,” IndiGo issued a statement on X on late Monday night.
As per a report by NDTV, an IndiGo flight en route to Amritsar returned to the national capital after precautionary blackout measure was observed in Amritsar.

In its travel advisory, IndiGo has asked the passengers to check the status of their flight on their website or mobile application before heading towards the airport.
