Science Stream Pass Percentage And Key Highlights

CBSE 12th Result 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the CBSE board class 12th results. Students can check the CBSE 12th results 2025 at cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in. Here, students can check the CBSE Class 12th Science pass percentage and other details.

For downloading the CBSE results from the official website, students will be required to enter these credentials: their roll number of the board, school number, admit card number, and date of birth.

According to CBSE rules, the passing marks are a minimum of 33 percent. Students need to obtain at least 33 percent marks in theory and practical papers to pass. In some merit cases, candidates who just fail to get the passing marks by a small margin are given grace marks between 1 and 2 marks.

After release, the online CBSE marksheet will contain vital information like the name of the student, roll number, marks and grades subject-wise, CGPA, and pass or fail status overall. It is important to check all the details on the marksheet thoroughly to avoid any discrepancies.

If a student is not satisfied with their result, they can apply for revaluation or rechecking of their answer sheets. Students who fail in one or two subjects are also eligible to appear for compartment exams.

From the 2024–25 academic session, CBSE has introduced a new ‘Relative Grading’ system. This system is designed to reduce academic stress and limit unhealthy competition among students. In contrast to the previous fixed grading system (e.g., A1 for 91–100 marks), the new system provides grades based on how a student performs relative to others. Consequently, grading standards can differ by subject and the distribution of student performance in passing that subject.

This year, over 42 lakh students took the CBSE board examinations, which were conducted between February 15 and April 4. The Class 10 examinations ended on March 18, and the Class 12 examinations ended on April 4.
