Gary Goldfarb’s path through the global trade industry has been marked by a blend of entrepreneurial spirit and strategic foresight, cultivated over more than 50 years.
After starting his logistics career in Miami in 1974, he built Golden Eagle Group into one of the largest third-party logistics companies in the US, eventually taking it public on NASDAQ as GEGP. Mr. Goldfarb also developed patented software solutions for international logistics at From2.com, establishing himself as an innovator in supply chain management.
In 2014, he joined Interport Logistics as Chief Strategy Officer, where he has played a critical role in scaling the business. Under his strategic direction, Interport has grown from 40 to more than 100 employees at its Miami headquarters, and 400 globally, with operations spanning 400,000 square feet across the US. The company now handles over 40 shipping containers worth of goods daily from its Miami facilities.
Mr. Goldfarb’s approach to business is informed by the culture of his adopted hometown of Miami, where more than 100 languages are spoken and the rhythms of global commerce are second nature. His work has helped make Miami a critical export hub, with Interport’s Miami operations alone serving 850 active accounts, a third of which involve direct foreign-to-foreign shipments.
He has also been instrumental in the expansion of Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) in South Florida, including the creation of the only Luxury Marine Industry FTZ in the US, located in Fort Lauderdale.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Mr. Goldfarb is deeply involved in the local business community. He served as chairman of the board of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s official economic development organization, and held leadership roles at Miami Dade College and Florida International University. Most recently, in 2025, he was appointed chair of the Board of Directors of the World Trade Center Miami, where he is responsible for guiding the organization’s strategy and fostering international trade connections.
Looking ahead, Mr. Goldfarb sees even greater potential for Miami to expand its role as a global trade hub. He believes the continued growth of FTZs, paired with advancements in supply chain technology, will help solidify the community’s position as the premier gateway to the Americas. As the region’s trade landscape continues to evolve, he envisions Miami becoming a key player in emerging markets and a critical link in global supply chains, driving economic growth for decades to come.
