Singapore’s April visitor arrivals up nearly 5pct y-o-y to 1.4mln says tourism board
April visitor arrivals to Singapore went up 4.5 percent year-on-year, to 1.40 million, with Indonesia as the top feeder market for the city-state’s tourism sector, according to Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
The number of overnight visitors was 1.01 million, up by 1.9 percent year-on-year, and 72.1 percent of the visitor total.
The top five source markets last month were: Indonesia (236,850); China (207,500); India (118,660); Australia (116,850); and Malaysia (109,250).
While the tallies from India, Australia, and Malaysia showed year-on-year growth; Indonesia and China recorded year-on-year decline of 2.9 percent and 5.9 percent respectively.
The overall April numbers took Singapore’s visitor arrivals in the first four months of this year to 5.71 million, up by 1.2 percent from the same period in 2024.
Around 73.4 percent of the January-to-April 2025 tally – or 4.19 million – were overnight visitors, though the size of that cohort declined by 2.1 percent compared to the same period last year, show the tourism board’s statistical updates.
The average length of stay measured across all international source markets was 3.47 days in the first four months of this year, up by 0.9 percent year-on-year.
Singapore has a casino duopoly consisting of Resorts World Sentosa, run by Genting Singapore Ltd, and Marina Bay Sands, run by a unit of Las Vegas Sands Corp.
