Ireland will face Olympic bronze medallists India in a double-header in Dublin next month.

The senior men’s squad will play back-to-back games on Monday June 2 and Tuesday June 3 in Pembrooke.

Before that – on Friday May 30 – an Irish Development Squad will face the Indian tourists.

Both Ireland and India will use this series as vital preparation for the next leg of the FIH Pro League, with both squads set to travel to Amstelveen to take on the Netherlands at the iconic Wagener Hockey Stadium.

Looking ahead to the India Series, Head Coach Mark Tumilty said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for both our Senior and Development squads to test themselves against one of the world’s top teams. It’s not often we get the chance to welcome a top eight nation like India to Irish soil, and these matches will be invaluable in our preparation for the upcoming FIH Pro League fixtures.

“For our Senior players, it’s a chance to sharpen our game against world-class opposition, while for our Development Squad, it’s an exceptional learning experience and a rare opportunity to play at this level. We’re looking forward to three high-quality matches and to building momentum as we head into a crucial phase of the season.”
