BrahMos is one of the fastest cruise missiles in the world.

New Delhi: India is strengthening its defense capabilities day by day. Here, exceptional missiles are being developed one after the other, and many advanced missiles have already been created. This is not only essential from a security perspective but is also strategically significant. These weapons protect us from outside threats. Some of these missiles can target several cities in Pakistan due to their speed and accuracy. In this report, we will try to find out how long it will take for the BrahMos missile to devastate Islamabad.

Speed of BrahMos

Talking about the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, its range is 290-700 km. Depending on the variant, with the latest upgrades, it can increase up to 1500 km. The speed of this missile is Mach 3.0, meaning it travels three times faster than the speed of sound. It moves at a speed of approximately 3704 km/h. The weight of this missile is 3000 kilograms, and it also has the capability to carry nuclear weapons. This missile can be launched from anywhere, including sea, air, and land. Its specialty is that it can fly at an altitude of 3-4 meters to evade radar and can also change direction mid-flight.

Delhi to Islamabad strike

Now, talking about the time it takes to reach Islamabad from Delhi, let’s first recall that in 2022, when India accidentally fired BrahMos from Ambala in Haryana, it landed in Khanewal, Punjab, Pakistan. According to PAF’s Air Vice Marshal Tariq Zia, this missile covered a distance of 124 kilometers in 3 minutes and 44 seconds. In this context, the distance from Delhi to Islamabad is approximately 801 kilometers. If its speed is indeed 3704 km/h, then it would take about 12 to 13 minutes for the missile to reach Islamabad from Delhi.

World’s most powerful missile

BrahMos has been jointly developed by India and Russia. It is one of the fastest cruise missiles in the world. Its supersonic speed, accuracy, and ability to evade enemy radar and air defense systems make it nearly invincible. This missile is deployed across all three branches of India’s armed forces: The Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force.
