Hexham event to launch EP inspired by Mermaid of Zennor
Morveren, who has been living in the region, will hold a special event to launch her first album, Grieving the Living, at The Vault in Hexham on Friday, June 27.
The singer-songwriter will perform unreleased songs with other local musicians before sharing a recording of the album with the audience.
Grieving the Living, the artist’s debut as an independent artist, explores the emotional journey of grief.
The music, influenced by alternative pop, indie rock, experimental folk, and musical theatre, comes together to create a blend of genres.
Morveren, originally from Cornwall, drew on the folk tale The Mermaid of Zennor for her stage name.
She graduated from Falmouth University in 2023 with a degree in music.
The event at the Vault will begin at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £5 and available in advance only from thevaulthexham.com or Haslam’s of Hallgate.
