The 34th Turkmenistan Football Cup started with two matches of the 1/4 finals in Arkadag and Turkmenbashi cities.
This year, the second most important club trophy is contested by 8 teams of the top league. Three of them – “Altyn Asyr”, “Ashgabat” and “Kopetdag” represent the capital. “Nebitchi” from Balkanabat and “Shagadam” from Turkmenbashi – Balkan velayat, “Merv” – Mary velayat, “Akhal” – Akhal velayat, and the current champion and winner of the Turkmenistan Cup, “Arkadag” – the city of the same name of national significance.
The first goal of the 2025 Turkmenistan Cup was scored at the stadium in the city of Arkadag, where the local club hosted Balkanabat’s “Nebitchi”. It was scored in the 28th minute by the home team’s player Begench Akmamedov, who was quicker than anyone else in the opponent’s penalty area after a cross from the right flank.
In the 2nd minute of added time to the first half, Shanazar Tirkishov developed the success of “Arkadag”. And after the break, Vladimir Bayramov’s charges scored four more goals against “Nebitchi”, which were scored by Altymurad Annadurdiev (50th minute), Shamamed Khydyrov (51st), Didar Durdiev (74th) and Bakhtiyar Agabaev (90th).
Having won a major victory over “Nebitchi” in the first quarterfinal match – 6:0, the “Arkadag” footballers made a strong bid to reach the semifinals before the return match in Balkanabat.
In another quarterfinal match, which was held in the city of Turkmenbashi between “Shagadam” and Mary’s “Merv”, the winner could not be determined. The teams tied – 0:0.
The other two semi-finalists of the 2025 Turkmenistan Cup will be determined in the matches between “Altyn Asyr” – “Ashgabat” and “Akhal” – “Kopetdag”.
The winners of the quarterfinal and semifinal stages will be determined based on the results of two matches.
The return matches of the quarter finals of the 2025 Turkmenistan Cup in football will take place on June 17-18.
