Despite these challenges, travel demand remained high. Denver International Airport anticipated over 443,000 travelers during the long weekend, matching last year’s record numbers. Nationwide, more than 45 million Americans were expected to travel at least 50 miles between Thursday and Monday, marking the busiest Memorial Day in two decades, according to AAA.
