Michael Bay Sets the Record Straight on Skibidi Toilet Movie
Michael Bay shut down rumors that he’s involved in a Skibidi Toilet movie. The update followed reports that the project is in early development and has attracted the industry’s top creatives.
Michael Bay has denied any involvement in the Skibidi Toilet movie. “I went on the internet last night and it says stuff about me directing something, I know what I’m directing, but it’s not the thing they keep talking about,” he said in an Instagram post. Showing a table covered in scripts, he continued, “That’s a movie. These are a whole bunch of movies right now, one is in serious prep, one is in soft prep, one I’m writing, one getting ready to produce or two to produce, but there’s not one in that little pile that says ‘Skibidi,’ so let’s just stop the lore right now. OK. You heard it from me.”

Michael Bay & Sydney Sweeney Team Up to Turn 39-Year-Old Video Game Franchise Into a Feature Film
After nearly four decades, another video game franchise is getting its first feature film adaptation.
Bay recently teased visuals for the Skibidi Toilet movie in an Instagram reel; a press release also confirmed it’s making headway with Bay at the helm, joined by top creatives. In July 2024, Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman announced the project would be produced under his company, Invisible Narratives. “We are absolutely in talks right now, both on the television side and the earliest conversations right now on the film side. But it’s not a be-all, end-all for us,” he stated, teasing the movie could potentially be “the next Transformers or could be a Marvel universe”.
It’s All Up In The Air For The Skibidi Toilet Movie
Bay’s update does not mean the Skibidi Toilet film has been scrapped or shelved. The project was already confirmed in the works; Bay may have just clarified that his role is different from what was reported. That’s disappointing news for Skibidi Toilet fans, but there’s a silver lining; Bay revealed five scripts in different stages of development. He’s been tagged and confirmed for upcoming projects, including Fast and Loose, an action flick starring Will Smith, Barbaric (a Netflix TV series), and the Outrun movie starring Sydney Sweeney.

This Underrated Michael Bay Film Is Actually His Best (And It Proves He’s A Great Director)
Michael Bay is one of the most well-known directors of the modern era, and despite receiving constant hate, this 22-year-old hit proves he’s great.
Bay has yet to reveal his role in the much-anticipated G.I. Joe and Transformers crossover movie. That was teased in 2023’s Rise of the Beasts, and producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura promised the Joes would be in the next live-action Transformers movie. “Where it will be particularly affected is the fact that we now know what these robots are capable of emotionally in a way,” he told Collider. “So we’re going to have to figure out how to create that room, that we can afford that, and create a story that you can take more advantage of that… “We’re still in the development phase… but I think we need to do more now from the robot point of view in the live-action because that’s the only way you’re really going to get inside them.”
Per Variety, Paramount CEO Brian Robbins said Bay was initially against the G.I. Joe cameo in Rise of the Beasts, asserting that the Easter egg would “cheapen” previous Transformers movies. “I called him 50 times,” Robbins recalled. “I would not let him off the hook. And when he finally stopped dodging my calls, we got him to sign off.”
