The idea of organizing the International Georgian Congress is one of the most important statements in terms of protecting and popularizing the Georgian language, culture, and history. The National Academy of Sciences of Georgia started implementing this idea in 2015, and since then, the Congress has been held once every three years.

The Congress’s task is to support foreign and Georgian scientists working in Georgianology and to create a scope for the news achieved in this direction. The ongoing Congress was conducted with field section work and a mixed format, which means a significant portion of foreign colleagues joined the Congress work online.

Notably, around 100 scientists participated in this year’s Congress and their reports were very high-level scientific works.

There is no doubt that this year’s Congress is another big statement in terms of Georgian culture, the history of the Georgian nation, its traditions, self-sufficiency, the development of the Georgian language and, most importantly, it promotes all those who are interested in Georgian language and its history, to bring everything Georgian to the international stage, which makes our country so rich.
