Ethiopia Signs $70 Million Loan Agreement with World Bank

Ethiopia and the World Bank have signed a $70 million concessional loan agreement to implement the Public Governance Modernization Project.

The Ethiopian Ministry of Finance explained that the agreement, signed by Ethiopian Minister of Finance Ahmed Shedi and the Country Director of the World Bank in Ethiopia Maryam Salim, aims to strengthen efforts to strengthen the government’s capacity to mobilize and manage financial and human resources.

It added that the agreement concerns three areas related to modernizing the capabilities of the government administration and supporting initiatives aimed at improving the mobilization of internal revenues, as well as the development of digital solutions in order to achieve progress in the field of public finance, according to the Saudi Press Agency “SAS”.
