Global trade hub launched at Teesside Airport

The ISS Airview hub is aims to to transform the airport into a key investment and trade link between the Tees Valley and international markets.

This comes after several developments at the Teesside Airport Business Park.

International trade expert, Atif Malik, will head the ISS Freeports division, which plans to connect Freeport trade corridors across the North East to hubs in Riyadh and Bangalore.

Mr Malik said: “Teesside is fast becoming a model for how regions can lead the way in global trade and clean growth.

“With the ISS Airview hub now taking on space at the airport, we’re not just connecting this region to global markets – we’re helping shape the future of UK trade.

“It’s a privilege to take this work forward, and I’m excited to tell that story around the globe.”

Mr Malik recently visited the Middle East and Asia to promote Teesside’s “growing status as a world-class trade and investment destination”.

The Teesside Freeport, which covers major industrial and logistics locations, provides customs advantages, tax incentives and support for innovation, positioning it as one of the more competitive business settings in Europe.

The airport-based Airview hub is the second in the North East, following the establishment of a site at Newcastle Airport in January.

It aims to form the UK’s first connected Freeport corridor, designed to support businesses with international scaling, investment, and trade infrastructure.
