Nissan India Launches Sustainable Solar and CNG Initiatives for a Greener Future, ET Auto

Nissan solar panel at dealerships Nissan Motor India is reinforcing its dedication to sustainability by launching several green initiatives to commemorate the World Environment Day. These initiatives include installing solar power systems at dealerships, conducting tree-planting activities, reducing plastic usage, and introducing a CNG retrofitment kit for the Nissan Magnite. The company aims to reduce environmental impact and promote a cleaner future.

The company has installed grid-based solar electricity generation systems at seven dealerships across India. The dealerships include Acuity Nissan (Baroda), Aarav Nissan (Mehsana), EVM Nissan (three dealerships in Kerala), Dada Nissan (Jalandhar), and Roshan Nissan (Jaipur).

These solar installations are designed to power 100 per cent of the workshop and showroom operations. Excess energy generated is redirected to the power grid for later use. This reduces the dealerships’ reliance on conventional energy sources.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, said “At Nissan, we are committed to sustainability and our global environmental philosophy goes beyond short-term goals. It’s a long-term dedication to a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive future. We are focused on reducing environmental impact and minimizing resource consumption. Every step we take is guided by our vision to drive sustainable mobility and protect the world for future generations.”

CNG retrofitment kit
Recently, Nissan Motor India also introduced a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for the New Nissan Magnite. The kit is available at an additional cost of ₹74,999/-.

The CNG kit is designed for customers who are sustainability-aware and environment-conscious. It offers a cleaner alternative to conventional fuels. The kit also delivers enhanced fuel efficiency without compromising on performance.

In the first phase of the rollout, the retrofitment kit is available across seven states. These states include Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka
