New Delhi: India is the fastest-growing region for Adobe in Asia Pacific, with more than 8,500 employees among its 30,000 global staff. Prativa Mohapatra, who holds the role of managing director and vice president for India at Microsoft, confirmed that India now ranks second to the US as a major hub for the company. During the Adobe Summit India 2025 in Mumbai, Mohapatra said the country plays a key role in developing Adobe’s products.

A third office in Noida is being set up and is expected to be completed and functional by 2026. Mohapatra stated that this growth comes from people in India using more digital services in banking, airlines, consumer products and the automotive industry.

India’s role in Adobe’s innovation

Over one-third of the new ideas developed by Adobe come from India, Mohapatra pointed out. Indian teams have played a big role in releasing major Adobe products, including those in the Document Cloud, Creative Cloud and Experience Cloud. Some of the new products, such as the AI-driven car configurator, make it possible for customers to experience products through virtual reality.

Collaborations and interoperability of AI models

Mohapatra pointed out that AI is crucial in the modern digital age and that interoperability is extremely important. Adobe is working with OpenAI and Microsoft to boost its AI capabilities for its customers. She mentioned that “one model and the other model are shaking hands,” pointing to how smoothly Adobe’s Firefly AI and Microsoft’s Copilot can work together.

India’s next economic boom will be centred on creativity, Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s CEO, believes. Since Adobe software is used by over 1 billion people worldwide, Narayen stressed the importance of empowering creators. While in India, he declared, “We will assist Prime Minister Modi in making India the capital of creativity worldwide.”
