Old car for a brand new SUV? Maruti’s Grand Vitara exchange offer explained – Car News
Maruti Suzuki’s finance scheme includes an exchange offer, allowing customers to use the value of their old car as the down payment for a new Grand Vitara.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL), the country’s leading automaker, is set to launch a new finance scheme aimed at customers looking to upgrade to an SUV with an affordable EMI plan. This could be the perfect opportunity for SUV enthusiasts to purchase the Grand Vitara, as Maruti Suzuki is offering EMIs as low as Rs 9,999 per month. The flexible scheme is specifically designed to help owners of sub-4-metre cars make the switch to the Grand Vitara.
Maruti Suzuki’s new flexible EMI plan
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales) at Maruti Suzuki India, explained that the new scheme is about 20% lower than the standard finance plans. He further stated that after 5 years or 75,000 km, customers have the option to return their vehicle to Maruti Suzuki and receive a guaranteed buyback value of 50% of the original vehicle cost.
With the exchange offer, the older car’s value will be considered as down payment for the new Grand Vitara and the valuation will be finalized based on the car’s age, mileage and the ownership history.
Banerjee said that Maruti Suzuki will initially launch this initiative in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Based on the results and feedback from this pilot phase, the company plans to expand the scheme to additional models, including the upcoming e-Vitara.
