“Minister Rabain and Mr. Zulu discussed various regional and national priorities, including climate resilience, digital government reform, and integrating artificial intelligence [AI] in public service and education.”

Minister Rabain noted, “Our meeting underscored the importance of aligning Bermuda’s innovation agenda with regional and global sustainable development goals. From our climate-smart building codes to digitising public services and using AI in classrooms, Bermuda is eager to share and learn alongside our regional neighbours. The opportunity for collaboration with the UN and countries such as Jamaica on digital learning, resilient infrastructure, and knowledge exchange is a welcomed development.”

A Government spokesperson added, “Mr. Zulu commended Bermuda’s traditional roof construction and building standards, suggesting these could serve as a regional best practice to enhance hurricane resilience in other Caribbean jurisdictions. The discussion also touched on the high cost of energy in small island states and the potential for scaling up renewable energy solutions through shared approaches.
