Science and education – the foundation of sustainable development
An international scientific-practical conference titled “Innovation, Peace and Sustainable Development” was held today at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan.
Events organized in our country on the occasion of Science Day are gaining wide momentum. Project competitions and scientific conferences are held at higher education institutions. The international scientific-practical conference held at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University, which makes a significant contribution to training highly qualified specialists and young scientists in precise fields, was distinguished by its rich and substantive content.
The forum, held in a hybrid format, was attended by professors and lecturers from higher education institutions, numerous representatives of the scientific community of our country, scientific centers, and companies from Hungary, Japan, Malaysia, India, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Brazil, Pakistan, Germany, France, Ukraine, Austria, Georgia, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan.
At the plenary session of the conference, speakers emphasized that science and education are a solid foundation for ensuring the comprehensive development of any state. Special emphasis was placed on creating opportunities in our country for engaging in scientific work and expanding international cooperation in this field.
In Turkmenistan, modern facilities in the fields of science and education are systematically being constructed, and the material and technical base of existing ones is being strengthened with products from leading technology developers, which provides the necessary conditions for conducting scientific research.
Attention was also given to the ongoing work on the implementation of scientific discoveries into industry. Effective cooperation between the leading scientific institutions of our homeland and foreign countries contributes to the active introduction of scientific developments into various spheres of production and social life.
During the plenary session, foreign scientists gave detailed presentations about the work of their represented scientific institutions and companies. In this regard, the main topics of the presentations were the development of medical products from medicinal plants using innovations, promoting sustainable development through biotechnology, and improving the efficiency of higher education. The conference participants were also interested in the achievements of Malaysia in creating “smart” network communication systems and the experience of integrating photovoltaic technologies into agriculture in desert conditions.
Proposals by Japanese scientists on the development of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere could give an impetus to mutually beneficial relations in promising areas. The initiatives of Japanese scientists in renewable energy, increasing liquefied gas exports, and water-saving technologies were discussed in detail.
Innovation is the main source of long-term economic growth, ensuring competitiveness in global markets, and improving the population’s standard of living. Science, education and production are closely interconnected areas. Technological progress is achieved through establishing effective interaction between enterprises, higher education institutions, and research institutes, which are participants of the national innovation system. In our country, industrial complexes based on modern technologies are regularly constructed in cooperation with leading manufacturers. Japanese companies also actively participate in the implementation of such projects. The conference also discussed in detail Japan’s achievements in the production and installation of complex industrial equipment.
The presentations of foreign scientists at the plenary session were noted for useful proposals on establishing semiconductor production and manufacturing products for the electronic industry in Turkmenistan.
Then, the international scientific-practical conference “Innovation, Peace and Sustainable Development” continued its work in three sections. Presentations in the sections “Science – The Foundation of Peace through Development,” “National-Cultural Traditions – A Perfect Bridge of Friendly Cooperation,” and “Innovative Technologies – A Perfect Means of Ensuring Sustainable Development” united valuable opinions put forward by representatives of the scientific community of our country and foreign states across a wide range of fields.
An exhibition of innovative technologies was also organized within the framework of the forum. In addition, a ceremony was held to summarize and award the winners of the innovative technologies competition conducted by the university among the youth of the country.
