People Hold the Power to End Poverty and Injustice – Waatea News: Māori Radio Station

Role Funding:

Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson delivers a powerful message in her interview today with Dale Husband: everyday people—whānau, including those living rough—hold the power to transform Aotearoa. She says poverty and homelessness are the result of political choices, not inevitabilities.

Fresh from community events in Kirikiriroa, Davidson outlines the Green Party’s vision: free GP visits, free early childhood education, and an end to child poverty. She says Aotearoa has enough for everyone to live with dignity—but the government chooses tax breaks for wealthy landlords over hungry children.

Davidson urges people to rise, speak out, and vote for a future where every whānau thrives. “Change is possible,” she says, “and it starts with us.”
