Kia Carnival India launch on Oct 3: What to expect? – Car News

The Carnival is returning to the Indian market and will be available only with a diesel engine option.

Kia is reintroducing the Carnival to the Indian market as a fourth-generation facelift version. Reports suggest that the Carnival may only be available in a 7-seater configuration, unlike the previous model which offered multiple seating options.

2024 Kia Carnival: Exteriors

Kia had earlier showcased the new Carnival at the 2023 Auto Expo as the KA4 concept. The new Carnival has an imposing road presence with a wide grille with chrome rims and scooping L-shaped LED DRLs that complement the vertically shaped LED headlamps. The hood or the bonnet has been crafted to flex muscles with prominent character lines.

From the side, the wheel arches are more pronounced along with a deep character line running across the body panels. With sliding for rear passengers for easy entry and exit, the 2024 Carnival sports dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels and a metal finish C-pillar. The rear sports connected LED tail lamps with the chrome finish rear bumper.  

2024 Kia Carnival: Features

The dashboard is by the twin 12.3-inch displays — the infotainment system and the driver’s console. The premium luxury is packed with features like a powered tailgate, powered sliding doors, a Bose music system, ventilated and heated front and second seats, the middle row independent Captain seats, three-zone climate control and connected car technology.

In terms of safety, the Carnival comes standard with 8 airbags, all disc brakes, Level 2 ADAS, tyre pressure monitor, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

2024 Kia Carnival: Engine

Kia will only offer a single powertrain in the Indian market. The South Korean manufacturer will retain the 2.2-litre diesel engine with an output of around 190 bhp and 441 Nm torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Carnival is expected to be priced in the region of Rs 50 lakh. The Kia MPV will face off against the Toyota Innova Hycross and its more affordable doppelganger, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto.
