Demon Slayer’s New Infinity Castle Anime Movie Debuts to Sold-Out Screenings & Dawn Lineups
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie – Infinity Castle Arc Part 1 has easily been of the most anticipated anime releases of 2025. Demon Slayer fans in Japan have taken extreme measures to ensure they’re not missing out on Ufotabe’s latest addition to the anime.
Per Oricon, major theaters such as TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku have scheduled an impressive 40 screenings for the anime movie’s opening day, with premieres beginning at 7 a.m. The weekday morning saw fans begin gathering at the venue early in the morning for these first public screenings, although midnight screenings were also held in theaters located throughout the country, including not only Tokyo but also Hokkaido, Miyagi, Kanagawa, Aichi, Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Hiroshima, Tokushima and Fukuoka. Fans were also lining up in droves to snag new and exclusive Demon Slayer merchandise before and after the premieres.

Oricon elaborated on TOHO’s impressive commitment to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie – Infinity Castle Arc Part 1, confirming that TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku dedicated 11 of its 12 total screens to the film. The movie began screening four times across different screens starting from 7 a.m. on Friday and shown every few hours throughout the day, concluding with a final screening at 1.05 a.m. the following day. TOHO Cinemas Hibiya and Ikebukuro had a similar number of screenings, with each showing the movie 31 times on its opening day.
It was reported that the previous Demon Slayer movie, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, grossed 40.43 billion yen. Per Filmibeat, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie – Infinity Castle Arc Part 1 has earned $1.34 million USD upon its opening. With the movie only screening in Japan at the moment, it’s expected that Ufotable can cash in an even greater check once the film reaches international audiences.
