ACT convenes to tackle jobs, poverty and police corruption – SABC News
The African Congress for Transformation (ACT) party says seeking solutions to the country’s socio-economic challenges, including poverty and unemployment, is topping the agenda of its national council meeting in Bloemfontein.
It says corruption allegations against senior police officials, as well as readiness for the 2026 local government elections, will also be discussed.
The party’s national spokesperson Mohau Khumalo says, “Also, just to make sure that we come out of this meeting with a complete working document that we can escalate down to our branches. We have invited all the leaders from the provinces to come and give input here, because ACT is not going to be a spectator. We are going to lead South African politics, and we also want to make sure that our voice is heard. But in the main, also address the challenges that are faced by a black child in South Africa.”
