Apple Music’s Rap Life Radio, presented by Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B, Ebro Darden, will feature the enigmatic rap newcomers Yiizi and TMZY this month, as Ebro and Africa Now Radio host, Nandi Madida, chat about the duo’s debut collaborative EP Money Over Love, available to stream now on Apple Music.
“Being chosen as the Rap Life Africa cover stars is a dream come true,” they tell Apple Music. “It’s an honour to represent our music and to share our story with such a wide audience. We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity.”
Across eight tracks, Yiizi and TMZY deliver a vulnerable, genre-blending experience that speaks to emotional fulfilment and material aspirations. Switching between Yoruba and Pidgin, with a bouncy, sing-rap flow, the duo take turns at offering spirited meditations on love, ambition, heartbreak, and self-discovery.
Money Over Love is not just about romance or hustle — it’s a full-circle moment for two artists putting their truth into sound, and TMZY echoes this sentiment, explaining to Apple Music, “The project was born out of a need to document what we were both feeling and living through. It’s about how life makes you negotiate between desire and fulfilment.”
Alongside Yiizi and TMZY, Rap Life Radio will also spotlight South Africa
n rap heavyweight Cassper Nyovest, who will soon return with a brand-new, high-energy single titled “Guess Who’s Back”, reminding fans why he’s one of the best in the business.
Wordz will also feature with his upcoming single “OG” featuring Thato Saul and Mochen.
