Chaudhary Group and Bikaji Foods Launch Snack Joint Venture in Nepal, ETRetail

New Delhi: Chaudhary Group (CG), Nepal’s leading multinational conglomerate, has signed a joint venture (JV) cum shareholders agreement with India’s ethnic snacks major Bikaji Foods International to manufacture and market snacks, namkeen, bhujia, papad, and packaged sweets across Nepal, as per a development filed with the regulatory on Wednesday.

As per the terms of agreement, the joint venture company will be equally owned by BFIL and CG Foods (50:50). It will combine Bikaji’s product strength with CG’s local market expertise and operational capabilities to expand Nepal’s snack food market.

Currently, Nepal’s FMCG sector is witnessing robust double-digit growth of around 20% annually, according to the Investment Board Nepal.

“This collaboration reaffirms our commitment to bringing world-class food innovation to Nepal while expanding and strengthening our local capabilities,” said Varun Chaudhary, Managing Director, Chaudhary Group.

“From boosting employment to energizing the supply chain, this partnership has the potential to accelerate Nepal’s food sector and set new benchmarks in quality and accessibility,” he added.

CG, known for Wai Wai noodles brand, said the venture would establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Nepal, create thousands of jobs, support local entrepreneurs, and introduce hygienic and affordable snack products to Nepalese households.

The company said the initiative aligns with its goal of fostering self-reliance and enhancing the country’s manufacturing base through quality and innovation.
