World Surf League Appoints Nicole Metzger as Chief Revenue Officer

The World Surf League (WSL) has appointed Nicole Metzger as chief revenue officer. In this role, Metzger will oversee the WSL’s global partnerships, licensing and business development functions, while leading efforts to advance the league’s commercial strategy. Additionally, she will lead the partnership team to drive innovation through business development and partnership strategy. Metzger most recently served as the chief sales and partnerships officer for the LPGA.

Patrick Haas Named GM of Advisory, Team Playmaker’s New Division 

Patrick Haas, who most recently led strategic planning at Wasserman, has been named general manager of Advisory, a new consultancy launched by Team Playmaker. Advisory works with established brands refining their sponsorship strategy, emerging brands entering sports marketing and rights-holders seeking sharper go-to-market execution. Core services include portfolio optimization, valuation and negotiation support for brands, and fan segmentation, pricing strategy and naming rights valuation for rights-holders. Haas spent eight years at Wasserman (formerly CSM), where he led strategic planning and analytics for global brands and properties.

LA28 Taps Peter Rice as Head of Ceremonies and Content

LA28 named television and film executive Peter Rice the head of ceremonies and content for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Rice will oversee the creative vision and physical production of all four ceremonies at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the 2028 Stadium. Rice will report directly to LA28 chairperson and president Casey Wasserman.

Skims Partners With League One Volleyball

League One Volleyball (LOVB) announced Skims as its official loungewear, intimates and sleepwear partner. Skims will participate in LOVB community and athlete-driven events, league-wide activations and more throughout the season. The collaboration will provide Skims with exposure across LOVB’s official digital platforms, events and broadcasts.

The CW Strikes Multiyear Agreement With PBR

The CW Network has entered a multiyear agreement with PBR (Professional Bull Riders) to be the exclusive broadcast home of Saturday and Sunday PBR Camping World Team Series events. PBR on The CW kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 10, live from Sunrise, Fla., and continues for 10 additional weekends, culminating with the league’s final championship tournament from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 25 and 26.

PrizePicks Taps Klutch Sports Group for Strategic Brand Advisory

PrizePicks announced that Klutch Sports Group has been enlisted as a strategic brand advisor. As part of the collaboration, Klutch—along with its Brand Consulting and Sports and Brand Insights divisions—will advise PrizePicks on talent strategy, brand development and relationship building across the sports and entertainment landscape. RHC Group Completes Acquisition of Greek Basketball Team Aris BC

RHC Group, an investment and philanthropic platform focused on sports and entertainment, has completed the acquisition of Aris BC, the historic Greek basketball club based in Thessaloniki. RHC Group said it will deploy a long-term strategic vision to Aris, with a focus on sustainable business and financial growth, competitive success and social responsibility. With the acquisition, RHC Group announced its intention to appoint Nikos Zisis as general manager of Aris BC.

Dawn Staley to Play in ‘Cornhole for a Cause’ at ACL World Championships

The American Cornhole League (ACL) announced the lineup of four celebrities who will be paired with cornhole pros for the latest “Cornhole for a Cause” event, benefiting their charities of choice. This matchup will be featured during the ACL’s 2025 World Championships in Rock Hill, S.C., on Aug. 2, airing on ESPNU and across ESPN streaming platforms.
