Girish Kumar stepped into the world of cinema with Prabhu Deva’s romantic film Ramaiya Vastavaiya. He starred opposite Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti Haasan in the movie that was a Telugu remake. Although, the film had an underwhelming response at the box office, but it was praised for his emotional arc and also the songs, especially ‘Jeene Laga Hoon’ sung by Atif Aslam. Girish won Best debut award for his performance, a start to this promising career.

After that, he starred in just one film Loveshhuda in 2016, alongside Navneet Kaur Dhillon. The film tanked at the box office and received below average reviews from the masses and critics. Following that, Girish stepped away from acting and stopped signing new films.

What is Girish Kumar doing now?

Girish didn’t quit entertainment industry, just preferred to work behind the scenes. In 2016, he joined his family-run Tips industries. He is son of producer Kumar S Taurani and nephew of Ramesh S Taurani- both powerful names in Bollywood and co-founders of the company.

Today, Girish serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company, which is valued at Rs 8,533.40 crore, according to NSE data. Girish works closely with his father and uncle, playing a key role in growing his family empire.

How is Girish Kumar richer than many Bollywood stars?

Although Girish distanced himself from the glittering glamour world, his current net worth is higher than many Bollywood biggies. As reported by Trendlyne, his personal wealth is around Rs 2164 crore. This makes him richer than many biggest names in Bollywood, including Ranbir Kapoor ( Rs 400 crore), Ranveer Singh ( Rs 245 crore), and Varun Dhawan ( Rs 380 crore), but even superstar Aamir Khan ( Rs 1900 crore).

On the personal front, Girish is married to his childhood love Krsna. The couple lives in Mumbai along with their child. Despite coming from a renowned Bollywood family, Girish prefers to stay away from the limelight.
