Tamil film Thalaivan Thalaivii, starring actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, is all set to release in Telugu as Sir Madam on August 1 in theatres. Directed by Pandiraaj, the film is a romantic comedy drama.

Actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s Tamil film Thalaivan Thalaivii, is currently running in theatres. The film released in theatres on Friday. Now, the Telugu version, which has been titled Sir Madam, is all set to release on August 1, the makers of the film announced on social media on Saturday.
Sir Madam is directed by filmmaker Pandiraaj whose last release was the 2022 rural action drama Etharkkum Thunindhavan starring Suriya in the lead role. Sir Madam is touted to be a “rugged love story” and revolves around two people who get married. But as their marital life turns sour due to their constant fights and bickering. The Tamil version of the film on its first day collected Rs 4.15 crore. With the weekend to follow, and Telugu version, the film is expected to see more earnings.
Thalaivan Thalaivii opened to mixed reviews upon its release. The film has elements of comedy, emotions and romance with family sentiments.

The post-digital theatrical rights of Sir Madam/ Thalaivan Thalaivii have been bagged by Prime Video. The OTT release date of the film has not yet been revealed and will tentatively release last week of August. The film is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films and also features Yogi Babu, Mynaa Nandhini, Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, Deepa, Roshini Haripriyan and others. The technical crew includes music by Santhosh Narayanan and M. Sukumar cranking the camera. Pradeep E Ragav is the editor.
Sir Madam/ Thalaivan Thalaivii marks the second collaboration of Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen. The duo has earlier worked in Malayalam film 191a, which is available for streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium.
