Two Omani projects among top 13 global entries at London International Youth Science Forum

MUSCAT – The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the forum with five scientific projects, chosen from over 340 local research and innovation entries. Out of these, two projects have qualified for the elite global list, marking a significant scientific achievement and underscoring the excellence of Omani youth in the fields of scientific research and innovation.

Innovator Hala bint Ali Al Zaabi is showcasing her project titled ‘Dual Treatment of Waste Leachate Using Date Seed Tannins and Advanced Oxidation Technology’, which proposes an eco-friendly method for treating industrial waste using locally available natural resources.

Innovator Muntaser bin Salem Al Maamari’s project, titled ‘Green Hydrogen Production Powered by Artificial Intelligence from Mesquite Trees and Industrial Waste’, seeks to develop and deliver sustainable clean energy solutions using artificial intelligence technologies.

The selection of these projects reflects the high standard of scientific research and innovation among young Omanis, especially in areas such as environmental sustainability, energy, and emerging technologies.

The LIYSF 2025 is being held in London from July 23 to August 6, with the participation of outstanding young scientists and researchers from around the world. The forum is recognized as one of the leading international platforms promoting innovation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
