Publicis India MD Oindrila Roy steps down to pursue new venture, ETBrandEquity

Oindrila Roy has announced her departure as managing director of Publicis India, revealing the news in a LinkedIn post. Roy, who joined the agency in 2022, is stepping down after more than three years to launch her own venture, Opinion Incubator.

In her post, Roy reflected on her time at the agency, which she affectionately called ‘PI’. She described her tenure as a “demanding, transformative, fiercely rewarding chapter” that pushed her beyond her comfort zone. “What I didn’t know then was how deeply it would shape me in return,” she wrote, expressing gratitude for the leadership experience and the opportunity to “hold vision through chaos.”

Roy’s message also extended heartfelt thanks to the people she worked with, crediting her colleagues for their “honest debates, shared ambition, and quiet solidarity.” She also thanked clients for their trust and belief in her team’s ideas, as well as those who challenged her, stating they helped her “grow the most.”

Ending her post, Roy expressed a sense of gratitude and optimism for the future. “What I carry with me is not just a title or a track record, but the people, the lesson, the love,” she wrote. “It’s time now to step into a new chapter. A venture we call Opinion Incubator.”

Before her role at Publicis India, Roy served as the strategy head for India at Essence. Her career also includes stints at several other notable agencies, including Leo Burnett, Bright Angles Consulting, Saatchi & Saatchi, and JWT. Roy’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter for both her and the agency, as she prepares to embark on her entrepreneurial journey.
